The news of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time first arrived back in February this year and since then, many have been anticipating the game’s arrival. The game is based on the deeply admired Cartoon Network series from the early 2000s, and its fans have now grown up ready to get their hands on some quality merch just in time for the game’s release.

Limited Run Games tweeted about its Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time Collector’s Edition drop today. The Limited Collector’s Edition will be officially available on August 14 in two batches on the day, the first at 10 AM EST and the second at 6 PM EST. It can be purchased on Limited Run Games’ website and will cost $130 USD. The package contains a physical copy of the game for Nintendo Switch, a seven-inch statue of Samurai Jack leaping out of a time portal, the original soundtrack, a double-sided poster of Jack and Aku, three art cards featuring some of the show’s prominent locations, and finally, Jack’s katana letter opener.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time has a very small file size with a Switch Port of 3.8GB and retails for about $40, roughly a third of the Collector’s Edition’s price. But the Limited Collector’s Edition is unlikely to be found easily after the release date, so dedicated fans only have August 14 to obtain it.

The Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time official trailer that released in February indicated that it would aim to follow the show closely, and to make it more authentic, the show’s head writer also wrote the game’s script. Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will see various eras as Jack fights against his nemesis, Aku.

The official release date of the game was confirmed in a second trailer for Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time and some fans were quick to pre-order, according to the responses to Limited Run Games’ tweet. But even though the price for the Collector’s Edition is steep, it appears some supporters think it is definitely worth it. There are only 1500 copies of the edition being sold globally, so getting one’s hands on it might be a little tough on the day. A few Twitter users also responded to the tweet asking when the Shantae and the Seven Sirens Collector’s Editions will be available. Limited Run Games announced that it will be offering Collector’s Editions of Shantae and the Seven Sirens, but the official release date of that is likely to be in September.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time releases on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, and Xbox One on August 21.
