Although Samsung soon after deleted the tweet, of course it was already too late for that—eagle-eyed publications such as AppleInsider had managed to screenshot the Tweet, using the image to poke fun at the company on social media.
Doomed to Repeat the Same Mistakes
This isn’t the first time Samsung’s social media department has used an iPhone for tweeting, but it should definitely be the last. Tweeting about your upcoming shiny from your arch rival’s handset always makes you look like a petulant child in the eyes of ardent fans.
Meanwhile, reliable leaker Evan Blass has published a bunch of high-quality Galaxy S21 images in a truly massive leak on Twitter. One of the images is a webpage screenshot confirming there’s no charger in the Galaxy S21 box. Not only that, but Samsung’s reasoning for the move is the same as Apple—helping protect the environment.
Headphones may not be included either.
Where Apple Leads, Samsung Follows
Samsung omitting the charger from the Galaxy S21 box wouldn’t have been newsworthy if Samsung hadn’t mocked Apple over not including the power brick with the iPhone 12 just three months ago (as well as removing the charger from the older iPhone models).
And Samsung couldn’t resist ridiculing Apple over the iPhone 7 headphone jack removal back in 2017 only to then remove the 3.5mm audio connector from the Galaxy Note 10 two years later.
